The PlayStation 5

The PS5 is much bigger than the previous generation. The PlayStation 4 was around 11.5-inches tall, while the PlayStation 5 stands at 16-inches high. It has a curved design which is probably to discourage stacking other things on top of it. This shows that the PS 5 was designed to stand vertically.

In order to place the PS5 horizontally, you would need to place a plastic stand underneath where it fits loosely on the rear fin.

DualSense Wireless Controller

DualSense Wireless controller is a whole different product compared to the PlayStation 4 version and this is apparent in both function and design.

Some of the improvements made are adaptive triggers, built-in mic, and superior haptic effects. Sony has also changed the Home button from being a circular one with the PlayStation logo inside to a simpler cutout logo.

The DualSense feels like a great shift from the previous DualShock 4 of the PlayStation 4. Aesthetically, the smooth curves and dual-tone colour scheme feels like a paradigm shift after three generations of Sony’s single coloured controllers. They’ve also made changes to the L2 and R2 triggers making it longer with a greater pull maximizing the impact of the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. creating resistance for tension simulation or physical feedback.
