Design

The Galaxy M12 is encased in a polycarbonate matte back which is much expected at a phone at this range. The design on the back is divided by vertical stripes that have semicircles carved into them giving it a sleek and study aesthetic.

At the rear, we see the phone’s quad-camera setup, as well as a Samsung logo on the bottom part.

At the front, we see the Galaxy M12’s 6.5-inch HD+ display that comes with a waterdrop notch at the very top which is quite common in budget smartphones nowadays. Despite being a pretty heavy phone at 221g, and measuring 9.7mm thick, Samsung has equipped it with a 5,000 mAh Li-Polymer battery which has very good battery life and fast 15W charging type-c support.

Life most of the recent releases, the Galaxy M12 has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into its power button while on the other side, we see the triple-slot tray with two nano-sims and a MicroSD support.

Camera

Much like its A-series counterpart, the A12, the Samsung Galaxy M12 has very much the same camera setup with a triple camera at the rear using a 48MP ISOCELL Gm2 main sensor, along with a 5 MP depth sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor.

For a phone at this price range, the Samsung Galaxy M12 takes fairly decent images with its 48MP main camera during the daytime. The details are at a great dynamic range and come out quite well as well on its 12MP photos.

Performance

Equipped with an Exynos 850 as its System on Chip offering 8-cores with a performance of up to 2 GHz, and has become a popular choice on affordable Samsung devices. It is a great choice for less demanding games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and League of Legends: Wild Rift. Wild Rift was able to run at high graphics quality but wasn’t able to hold consistent 60FPS frame rates. This should come much as a bother to most gamers at this price range.

Battery Life

Thanks to its 5000 mAh battery and efficient chipset, the Samsung Galaxy M12 can give at least two days of battery life on moderate use while with heavy gaming, it may last up to a single day. It is quite normal but what’s different is the 15W charging that Samsung was able to provide at this price tag, giving the phone only 3 hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy M12 is worth the buy if you’re a person on the go that needs a decent battery life on their smartphone thanks to its 5,000 mAh battery life. You can’t really go wrong with getting this phone and is a great contender for one of the best budget devices in the market.
